Christmas Chex Mix Recipe & FREE Treat Tags
Every holiday season, my sister and I get together to make a few batches of this yummy (and highly addictive) snack mix. Our family and friends also go absolutely crazy for this Christmas Chex mix recipe & ask for it year after year. Christmas Crunch (as we like to call it) is so easy to make and the end result is a super tasty and festive looking snack that you can serve at your next holiday gathering. Even better, you can give it out as a heartfelt homemade gift!
Christmas Chex Mix Recipe:
- 4 cups Rice Chex
- 4 cups Corn Chex
- 1 1/2 cup pretzels
- 1 1/2 cup pecans (or your favorite nuts)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 1 1/2 cups M&Ms
How to Make Christmas Crunch:
First, gently mix cereals, pretzels and nuts in a large bowl. Next, in a 2 cup glass measuring cup add brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Now, microwave for 2 minutes until melted, stirring well after 1 minute. Then, add baking soda to the caramel sauce and mix well. Immediately pour the sauce over the cereal mixture. Mix gently until the cereal is completely coated.
After the cereal is coated, spread the cereal mixture onto a jelly roll pan and bake at 250 degrees for 40-45 minutes. We like to line the pan with parchment paper to avoid the mix getting stuck. Most importantly, be SURE to stir the mix every 15 minutes so that the Chex mix won’t clump together. Finally, cool completely and add the dried cranberries and M&Ms. Also, we like to use the red and green holiday M&Ms to give the mix a seasonal look!
Make it a Gift!
We suggest you use this festive Christmas Crunch mix as a delicious homemade gift. For instance, we like to buy festive treat or gift bags and scoop 2 cups of the mix into each bag. Next, tie them closed with pretty ribbon and then add the FREE tags we have created just for you! We are giving you two versions of the tags – easily staple the rectangular tag to the top of a sandwich bag. Use the square tag (which includes the actual recipe) and attach using a hole punch and ribbon. Keep in mind, the above Chex mix recipe makes approximately 6-8 generous bags.
