CVC Word Families Activities & Printables

Description

Come on down to the CVC carnival! Students will have so much fun with these carnival themed activities and printables that are perfect for your literacy centers, early finishers, homework and so much more! The 24 word families included are:

short “a” {-ab, -ad, -ag, -am, -an, -ap, -ar, -at}

short “e” {-ed, -en, -et}

short “i” {-id, -ig, -in, -ip, -it}

short “o” {-ob, -og, -op, -ot}

short “u” {-ub, -ug, -un, -ut,}

For each word family we have created the following activities:

1. CVC Ticket Booth: cut, paste, and write to create new words

2. Roll and Score: roll a die to practice reading, coloring, and writing each word

3. Dab a Duck: find and dab the words in each family

4. CVC Draw & Write

5. Fishing for Fluency: spin and read each row of cvc words

We have also included assessment strips for each short vowel (a, e, i, o, u): check off each word that is read correctly; students earn a “carnival” ticket after completing each strip!
